Previously known as Mat-Valley Competitive Soccer Club, Matanuska Soccer Club has operated continuously as the competitive arm of community soccer for the past two decades, with a number of teams competing regularly in Anchorage competitive leagues and statewide as representatives of Mat-Su Valley youth soccer.
The club was reorganized into its current nonprofit form in March of 2007, and since that time has undertaken an aggressive period of restructuring and redeployment of resources, culminating in the overall professionalization of the club’s technical and training staff, a wealth of new programs aimed at the total athletic development of Mat-Su youth, and a broader base of volunteer support, which is focused on strengthening the club’s core services.
In line with this reorganization, the mission of Matanuska Soccer Club, a nonprofit, educational organization located in Wasilla, AK, is to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth of Mat-SuValley youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition. The club endeavors to provide a fun, safe and healthy game for all kids, while simultaneously offering development programs for beginning players who are looking to progress into a more competitive environment, as well as programs for our more accomplished athletes, who are seeking the highest level of technical, tactical and physical training. Our focus is always on the individual, and our intention is to always provide the level of training and competition necessary for the individual’s personal growth and enjoyment.
